About

Hello! My name is Jena McIntyre and I am currently working on my second Bachelor's Degree at North Dakota State University. My first Bachelor's degree is in English Literature. My second degree will be in Strategic Communication.   I am from Fargo, North Dakota and well as you can see I have not ventured far.

During the day I work as an Insurance Adjuster while I continue to gradually work on obtaining my second degree. I enjoy that work as I get to look at cars, motorcycles, boats, and pretty much anything else motorized while engaging with others. I enjoy reading books in essentially any genre, but I have special passion for feminist books and topics. I also enjoy hanging out with friends, traveling, and operating motorized objects of any kind.  I usually end up by the lakes in the summertime and take at least one long road trip on my motorcycle a year.

My history with social media is pretty casual. I remember the old chat rooms, which were kind of a blogging format but very interactive. In 2008 I started my Facebook profile and its been used primarily for keeping in touch with friends and family, which from my understanding is it's original purpose. For a brief moment I had a Myspace profile but that was towards the end of hits hype. Today I have other forms of media such as Snap-chat and Instagram but I use those to keep in touch with friends in family as well. I have found that social media is ever changing so the need to be flexible is a must in some cases. For example I was never on twitter until recently either but I find that it's now a good way to stay on top of current events. However I find that some of these media outputs have their limitations. For example Twitter has a limited number of characters which limits the message that can be conveyed and Instagram is just photos. Although a picture is worth a thousand words, I feel that some a complete lack of words can be extremely limiting.
